WaterVent offers a unique approach for pre-qualified entrepreneur-investor matching. By providing a balanced ratio of entrepreneurs to investors, WaterVent creates an intimate setting that is customized to the business need of each event participant.
We follow two simple steps in matching business opportunities in the water sector:
Step 1: Entrepreneurs Submit Business Plans: WaterVent invites all interested entrepreneurs to submit their business plans on a rolling basis. Entrepreneurs should state which WaterVent they will attend. Or if they are unable to travel, whether they desire individualized matchmaking. The full range of water related technologies and business models are accepted to provide a broad spectrum.
Step 2: Targeted Investor Match: After WaterVent reviews the business plans, we invite targeted investors from our investor network, consisting of over 50 investors in water and cleantech, to attend.
Alternately, if an investor has a specific type of technology or investment opportunity he/she seeks, we can identify a company within our network. [↑]
Primary Program Focus: The majority of the agenda is allocated to entrepreneur-investor matchmaking, consisting of pitch presentations and one-on-one networking. A maximum of up to 20 water technology entrepreneurs are given time to present to the same number of investors at each event.
Market Leader Insights: To complement the matchmaking, we invite a limited number of leaders to share their insights on international market trends and challenges/opportunities for growing a business in the water market.
Pre-Conference Business Pitch Coaching: On the day prior to the matchmaking event, each presenting entrepreneur will have the opportunity to receive feedback and coaching on how to improve his/her business pitch.
This approach enables WaterVent to vet all business plans for impact and investor interest, providing a broad and balanced representation of technology solutions emerging across the water sector. [↑]
